manhattan fireworks ... from brooklyn.

july 4th is always a day to remember. tonight, we went to a special spot in brooklyn where we got some amazing shots of sunsets, cityscapes, and the grand attraction, the macy's fireworks display.

i believe that this picture captures the essence of the night. not only is there a train zooming by on the bottom left hand corner, but the city is straight ahead -- and a beautiful colored display of fire has appeared.

  • Really love picture. But perhaps it could do with a tiny bit of cropping down the bottom to remove some of those streetlamps - basically to cut off the bright areas. It shifts the focus down to the bottom when it should be between the fireworks display and skyline. Altenatively, digitally edit the front to subdue the brightness. Either way great picture.

  • Great photo. I'd probably crop it just above the light from the street lamp. This would make the dark silhouettes of the buildings frame the photo nicely. Great shot though. Well done!

  • you know, silhouetting is still new to me, but i see what you mean, and that's very true -- that would have been a nice way to crop the image. thanks for the kind words!
