the infrared difference.

the infrared difference.

wow, what a difference! this is a shot outside my window from my newly IR-modded d70 camera. it's pretty substantial from that of a d70 with an R72 filter. there was no real tweaking of white balance. no necessity to make many changes, and i'm pretty pleased with the results. this is just the beginning of a very long friendship.

by the way, before you ask: in order to get the proper white balance for IR, you need to shoot your camera off of a patch of healthy green grass. and if there's no green grass (as in the case of this photo, where i shot out of my window?) improvise. it isn't like tomorrow's picture (stay tuned), but it's certainly a good start.

  • Ah IR!! I've been dying to get the filter for myself but there's always no stock at my local stores. Enjoy your newly modded toy. Cheers!
